Trump had someone leak the "Client Copy" of his 1040 from his 2005 taxes to David Cay Johnston, and then pretended not to know about the leak and even said "it is totally illegal to steal and publish tax returns." saying that NBC was "desperate for Ratings". The only person that could release the "Client Copy" is Donald Trump (the client) or someone close to him.. notice there's no mention of the IRS releasing the taxes.
